BECOME AN ONLINE MENTOR

YOU CAN MAKE A PERSONAL, MEANINGFUL DIFFERENCE

Spend one hour a week to uplift and inspire a child.

It will change their life.
And it will change yours.

One student, once a week, at a set time that works for you.

You don’t need to be a teacher. Most of our mentors are not. Just speaking English for an hour a week is a huge boost for a schoolchild in a remote village.

You don’t need to be internet savvy. We send you a link that takes you straight to your online video meeting with your mentee.

You don’t need fancy equipment. Just your home computer.

BUILDING UP VILLAGES ONE MENTOR AT A TIME

There is an incredible need for quality education in developing countries. Many of the schools lack proper infrastructure, have high teacher-to-student ratios, and offer outdated curriculum. The mission of our mentorship program is to empower the next generation of children across the globe, providing them resources and connections they otherwise would not have access to. Together, we aim to reach more students, sowing seeds of hope along the way.

YOU’RE NEEDED HERE.

Click on the register button to get started. This will take you to the Village Portal. The Registration process is easy and takes 1-2 minutes

THREE SIMPLE STEPS

STEP 1

Click on the Village Portal - registration takes 2 minutes.

STEP 2

Our Village Mentor Coordinator will contact you for a 45-minute orientation session.

STEP 3

You are assigned your student – and you’re a mentor! Mentoring sessions are one hour per week at a set time that works for you. As a mentor you have no set curriculum: you and your mentee can read online books, address educational issues, or just talk. Many mentors start by using the educational packages we provide, then, as they get to know their student, plan the hour themselves.

ONGOING MENTOR SUPPORT

Village Book Builders provides continual support for mentors. If you have any questions or concerns that arise, our coordinator is always there to help.

TESTIMONIALS

“Being a mentor with Village Book Builders since 2022, working with the kids from Mukono in Uganda, has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. The resilience and enthusiasm of these young learners is truly inspiring, and their thirst for knowledge continually motivates me to give my best. Seeing their progress and the spark in their eyes as they discover new ideas has been a profound reminder of the power of education and the incredible potential within each child.”
